I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love being right!? But sometimes we’ve gotta give up proving we’re right, to be kind.
I am not always good at this with my family.
It’s like a natural reflex to fight to be right, to prove they are wrong (when in reality sometimes there are), but where does that really leave us?
And does it really matter if you were right about, let’s say, what the rules were for a master chef challenge, if you pushed someone away in the process? (Even for a few moments).
Being kind over being right, doesn’t mean giving up your rights or not putting your view forward, it just means, sharing your view in a kind, compassionate way, and knowing when to back down when it’s really not worth hurting someone to prove your point.
Let’s be kind. It’s cool.
