🔥👇Belonging and fitting in are not the same thing. In fact, fitting in gets in the way of belonging.
Fitting in is about assessing a situation and becoming who you need to be to be accepted. CHANGING yourself to fit in.
** This is hustling for our worthiness - by constantly performing, perfecting, pleasing, and proving. It is based on who we think we’re supposed to be + what others think + getting external approval.
Belonging doesn’t require us to change who we are; it requires us to BE who we are.
** BELIEVING we are worthy of love and belonging. In this moment, just as I am.
True belonging is an internal belief.
Not based on the acceptance of others, but a belief that YOU BELONG HERE and YOU ARE WORTHY RIGHT NOW.
Our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance. It starts within.
When we accept ourselves, we can turn up anywhere as ourselves and belong. Even if external circumstances are not accepting, we are already accepted, and that doesn’t change.
👉 Where do you think you may hustle for belonging and worthiness?
👉 How can you accept yourself and believe that you are worthy of belonging right now, just as you are?
