“Since I don't look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good.” - @serenawilliams
Yes girl! We all struggle with figuring out who we really are - it can take time, and sometimes comes from figuring out who we don’t want to be, from mistakes, from learning, from experiencing, and that’s part of your story.
Those treasures that brought you closer to who you really are. That showed you more of your true self - the one stronger than the battle, the one with heart, the one who was moved when you heard/saw something, the one who radiated as you realized something you love.
We are all learning more of who we really are. And that is a beautiful process. And your beauty grows deeper each step you take closer to the REAL you, each time you let go of who you think you “should be” and embrace who you really are.
So here’s a little exercise:
1. Write down some of the character qualities you love / admire about yourself
2. Write down some of the character qualities you aspire to grow in / deepen - if you see yourself in 3 years - what you’d love to say about yourself
3. Put it somewhere you can see - remind yourself of your REAL identity, of who you’re becoming - more truly you.
4. Celebrate tiny breakthroughs - any time you step into who you really are, celebrate! Big or small.
What’s one characteristic you want to grow more in - becoming more of the REAL you? x
